Chase-O-Rama Day 3

David Drummond and I caught a night tornado north of Vici, OK. That was pretty wild as it was a mile or less away and we could hear it. Short on time, but read my Tailcaster report

Now preparing to head out the door towards Childress and preparing to play south of I-40 today. Short on time, so a short blog entry. :-) No tailcasting again today unfortunately. I'll get my cellular internet fixed in the next few days.

More tornadoes to come!

LOL!! My whole schedule has sucked the past few days. It's been wake up, see the red box, read the day 1, get a shower, and blast out the door, get to target area, wait, chase like they do on the Discovery Channel, make the long drive back to Amarillo, get into bed in the wee hours. Rinse and repeat. I'm a chase zombie. :-)

I'll update my blog this evening...and I have lots to blog about. :-)

Except that yesterday sucked!!! I am soo disappointed on what should have been a great chase day but that 1st storm we were on dumped a ton of hail and cold pooled all of western Oklahoma and killed every storm within 75 miles. Not to mention the fact if you looked at the satellite pics the anvils were blowing off to the NW!!!!!!

Oh well vacation starts in 10 days then no more long drives to get back home. crash where you end up.

Yep, it really sucked. Since I have spent way too much time chasing in North Central Texas, I immediately recognized linear, high based crap storms. :-) It didn't take me long to retreat back home to Amarillo...although I did play around with some new cells that kept popping up south of the cold pool. The most interesting thing I encountered was a major frogasm and some flooding. More on that later this evening when I get my blog updated. :-)

I wish I could bug out for a couple of weeks of chasecation. I'll have to make a few 3 day weekends this season. My hope is that being in Amarillo, at least a few storms will find me instead of the other way around. :-)
