The Big Apple Gets The Big One

Wow. A confirmed EF2 tornado smacked Brooklyn yesterday. Too bad it missed the NY "Al Queda" Times building as an EF5. ;-)

Man, if I owned a pizzeria up there, I'd claim to have "tornado-tossed" pizza instead of hand-tossed. ;-) I can just hear a chaser there in a thick Brooklyn accent: "Yo! I'm chas-eeng here! Whadda you a moron or sumdin? Get off da road youse freeking eediot!" LOL!! Of course, there's always Jack Corso. ;-)

Glad to see you back on the blogsphere Steve. Was worried you were going to show up on the back of a milk carton...

Rick,

I'd have to get really small or find a very large milk carton. Oh...wait a minute...you meant my PICTURE on the back of a milk carton. Gotcha buddy! ;-)

I've been spending some extra time at work trying to complete some projects. We are working against the market timing in trying to release a pretty cool product. However, after spending long hours all day long on a computer hacking out code, I'm not too motivated when I get home to spend more time in front of a monitor. ;-)

I've also been trying to get my photography website back online and updated. With that and trying to catch up on alot of things that I put off during chase season, my freetime has been pretty short.

Dew, expect a call from the governor of New York anytime now to hire you and the powers of the Dewvoid out to protect the big Apple. This could be a huge opportunity for you! LOL!! ;-)

I will gladly accept that job. I am trying to determine ways to market my talents and working on honing those skills. Great opportunities there! LOL. Come on, Steve, we could cover weddings and stuff. It'll be great!

I was gonna blog about this event and forgot about it and now it's old news, but...

Did anyone catch the story how the NY MTA was blaming the NWS for their inability to deal with the 2+ inches of rain the storm dropped all at once? They said it was the NWS fault for not giving them enough warning.

I am guessing they would have needed months if not years to build the proper drainage system to deal with that.

I did get a kick out of people's reactions though. This storm on the whole was rather mild by plains standards, yet people were acting like it was the end of the age or something. Goes along with the heat warnings they get get up there when it gets above 90F.

In fairness on the flipside, they regularly deal with massive amounts of snow like it's no big deal, yet we get a good 4 inches of snow down in Texas and they shut down all the schools and government like it's the new ice age.

Just goes to show, no matter how extreme you think some weather event was at your location, it's normal stuff for someone, someplace else.
